Voters must cast their ballot in only one political party, although both parties will appear on the ballot. If votes are cast in both parties, the tabulator will reject your ballot in the precinct. In the case of an absentee ballot, if votes are cast in both parties, your ballot will be rejected and not counted (votes for the ballot proposals would be counted). Please cast your ballot carefully!
Voters on the permanent absent voter ballot list can begin looking for their ballots in the mail after June 25. If you are returning your ballot by mail, be sure to do so at least 1 week before the election. Ballots can take several days to get to the Township Office when mailed and all ballots must be received by 8:00 p.m. on Election Day in order to be counted. Late ballots are rejected and not counted.

Options for Voting:
Voting In-Person at the Precinct
As always, every registered voter may go to their assigned polling location with photo ID and vote in person. If you are not registered on Election Day, you may stop by the Township Hall and be registered and vote the same day at Township Hall or at their precinct.
Voting Absentee
Every registered voter may request an absentee ballot at any time before 4pm the Friday before Election Day. Your ballot will be mailed to your mailing address, which you may then complete and mail back to us at no cost to you; you may also drop it in our secure AV Ballot drop box or hand it to the clerk or deputy clerk over the counter at Township Hall.

Early Voting
Kalamazoo County now offers Early Voting as an option for all registered voters in the County for State and Federal Elections. Toss Township residents may vote at any one of the four different locations around the County in the nine days leading up to Election Day.

Kalamazoo County Expo Center, 2900 Lake St., Kalamazoo
Fetzer Center at WMU, 2251 Business Ct., Kalamazoo
Portage Parks & Recreation Dept., 320 Library Lane, Portage
Early voting for the August 4 Primary Election will take place from Saturday, July 25 through Sunday, August 2. Hours are 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
Early voting for the November 3 General Election will take place from Saturday, October 24 through Sunday, November 1. Hours are 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.
